TSB can provide travel insurance cover for travellers under the age of 80 years. If you are aged 80 or above we have an arrangement with specialist travel insurance provider All Clear who are able to provide cover for you.

All Clear provide specialist travel insurance which is particularly suitable for older travellers who may have pre-existing medical conditions. You can speak to All Clear on 01708 339 004. This line is open 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday. Calls may be monitored and/or recorded. Alternatively go to All Clear’s website.

We cover people who are residents of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Undiagnosed medical conditions and the health of others

If you or any traveller to be covered on this policy:

  • have sought medical advice because of symptoms you're experiencing that have not yet been diagnosed or you are under investigation or waiting for test results or in-patient treatment.
  • are aware of a close relative, business associate, travelling companion or someone you are planning to stay with on your trip, who has a serious, chronic or recurring illness, injury or disease that would mean you may have to cancel or abandon a trip if their condition got worse.

Do you or any travellers have medical conditions to declare?

Have you or any travellers received advice, medication or treatment for any serious, chronic or recurring illness, injury or disease within the last 12 months?

Have you or any travellers been placed under investigation or awaiting results for any diagnosed medical condition?

Have you or any travellers been placed on a waiting list for, or been made aware of the need for, in-patient treatment for any diagnosed medical condition?

Examples of when to declare

  • If you take prescription medicine, you need to tell us about the condition this treats.
  • If you suffered a heart attack or stroke more than 12 months ago, we need to know what you are now receiving treatment for, for example: blocked arteries, high blood pressure.
  • If you only take a daily dose of aspirin, with no other medication, then you don't need to declare this to us.

Using your information

To assess the terms of your insurance contract at new business and when we deal with changes to your policy or claims that arise Aviva (the insurer) and its agents may need to collect and use information about health and/or unspent offences or criminal convictions relating to you and (where relevant) family members and other people covered by your insurance.

When the insurer uses this data to make decisions about whether they can provide insurance to you and on what terms, deal with claims or carry out fraud checks this may be done by way of automated decision making. Further information about how they use your personal information can be found in the Privacy Notice in the Important Information for this product and in their full privacy policy

By proceeding with this application:-

  • You understand that we will use information about you (or any child for whom you have parental responsibility), including information about health and/or criminal convictions, for these purposes.
  • You are confirming that any other person (e.g. a family member or other individual covered by your insurance policy, or whose information is relevant to us providing this policy) whose information you are providing understands (or in the case of a child, the relevant parent or guardian understands) and has no concerns about their information being used in this way.

NOTE: If you have any concerns about use of information for these purposes, you should not proceed with this application as we may be unable to provide you with a policy. You can also contact us at any time if you would like to ask us to stop using your information but this may prevent us assessing future claims and the policy may be cancelled. Please note this will also apply to joint policies and, if any one of the policyholders asks us to stop using their information, this may prevent us assessing future claims and the policy may be cancelled.

To ensure the insurer has the necessary facts to assess your insurance risk, verify your identity, help prevent fraud and provide you their best premium and payment options the insurer may also obtain information about you and others insured under this policy from publicly available sources their trusted third parties and information held by Aviva. This may be collected at quotation and in certain circumstances where policy amendments are requested.

You have various rights in relation to your personal data including accessing your data, and in some limited circumstances objecting to processing or having your data erased.

To save time we have made some assumptions about you

In order to make getting a quote as simple as possible the quote will be based on a few assumptions. Please read through these to tell us if the assumptions we have made are correct. You and any traveller to be covered by this policy:

  • Are a resident of Great Britain or Northern Ireland (meaning you have your main home there, are registered with a doctor there and are liable to pay taxes there). You must have been a resident for at least 6 months at the time of buying the policy.
  • Has had less than 3 travel insurance claims in the past 3 years.
  • Has not already commenced the trip to be covered.
  • Are not travelling against medical advice and have not received a terminal prognosis for any medical condition.
  • Has never had travel insurance refused, cancelled or special terms imposed.
  • Has not received any criminal conviction for fraud, dishonesty or deception in the last 5 years.
